Virtual Toddler Program
Technology as a TOOL in Your Toddler’s Life:
Fostering Confidence and Personal Growth During an Unpredictable Pandemic
Despite personal views on the pandemic, the reality is as it is. Life as we knew it to be a few months ago has changed drastically and rapidly. This brings forth many valid concerns as a parent of a 2-4 year old as the age of the IPAD,TV programming, social media, and virtual gaming is in full force. For many children, the mindless use of electronic entertainment is replacing other healthier alternatives due to limited resources in a time of social distancing and self-quarantine.
In this entirely new and confusing time, the well-being and growth of a toddler is not only a priority but a challenge for most parents. During your child’s earliest years, you understand the importance of social interactions and the exploration of the real world. With nationwide shutdowns of social locations and activities, there is now a clear barrier that is blocking your child from engaging with the world in the way you had planned. It appears we are living in limbo and have to wait it out. I would like to offer a different perspective and solution for your family.
My name is Casey Pedro. I am a black belt in the sport of judo, founder of the Parent & Toddler Judo Program at Pedro’s Judo Center (Wakefield, MA), and Bentley University (Health Studies) graduate. The current pandemic presents a challenge I am determined to tackle using my experience and resources. My goal is to offer a resource for families in need of a positive and structured activity for their toddler.
Organized, structured sports give your toddler the chance to use the mind and body to accomplish a goal. Think about it, your toddler will spend a majority of his or her early life with your family at home with the limited resources available during this time. Additionally, your child will not participate in most organized activities until this crisis subsides. The sport of judo challenges toddlers both physically and mentally while targeting key emotional development milestones such as balancing independence with family identity, establishing early impulse control, exploring personal limits, and understanding boundaries.
Engaging your toddler in a safe, constructive, active, and disciplined judo program can strengthen focus, encourage cooperation, instill important values, and develop GOOD habits. Additionally, your active role in the program with your child provides a sense of security that, in turn, makes your toddler more likely to interact with an environment with confidence. Confidence tends to eradicate emotions such as fear or shyness that may ultimately prevent your toddler from strengthening his/her social and emotional skills. This is KEY during a time like this.
CONFIDENCE – RESPECT – FOCUS – MORE!
By utilizing our ability to remotely and safely connect, I’ve developed an Introductory Parent & Toddler Virtual Judo Program. The aim is to provide a virtual platform in which young children can use technology to be active, develop important life skills, explore a martial art, and build a connection with a positive role model. Emphasis on personal goal setting, respect, and confidence is kept in mind throughout the entire program.
Give your toddler the opportunity to get ahead and build a foundation for the skills and emotional experiences that will be carried with them throughout their entire life. If you would like to learn more or if you would like to access the program when it is available for purchase in June 2020, please fill out the form at the link below. I look forward to connecting with your family and I thank you for your effort in also finding positivity in an unfortunate situation. Be well and safe!
